Bowen IT Services (BITS) was established in 2017 by Benjamin Bowen to provide technical services to small and medium business owners and organizations. Many small to medium businesses cannot afford dedicated IT staff, or do not want to get involved with the complicated setup & maintenance of IT infrastructure in their businesses – this is where BITS and associates is there to help. Benjamin has been in IT since 1994 wtih over 20 years of IT experience, most recently as an HP Engineer for a Fortune 100 company and previous to that working in IT Security, Network Design and Technical Sales.
BITS works with a number of associates to provide everything from automating shop floor machinery, to building websites and tying in back end databases, to maintaining ERP programs and IT infrastructure, to consulting on developing new approaches to business and making IT infrastructure more streamlined and easy to use for employees.
Why BITS? Well, it is a bit of a personal story there. When I worked as an HP Engineer for a Fortune 100 company, designing racks of equipment for IT re-sellers, it was a little difficult for my family to explain to non-IT people what I did, so my mother used to say to them “He sells bits for computers.”. That over-simplification of my job as an engineer still makes me laugh to this day, and I told myself when I first heard her say it that I would name my company “BITS” when I eventually started my own business. The name works well with IT Services and my last name, so here we are.
